TRUST WALLET, WITHOUT THE MYSTERY

What is Trust Wallet, really?

Think of Trust Wallet as a self-custody crypto wallet: software that helps you manage access to digital assets and interact with blockchain networks. It doesn’t hold your assets in the same way a bank holds cash. Instead, your wallet uses keys to authorize activity on-chain.

That distinction is important. With self-custody, you’re responsible for keeping your recovery phrase private and backed up safely. Anyone who gets that phrase may be able to control the wallet. Trust Wallet support will never need you to share it.

In plain English: your wallet is a tool for managing keys and signing actions—not a promise that every token, website, or transaction is safe.

Before you set anything up

  • Download only from an official Trust Wallet source.
  • Write down your recovery phrase offline and keep it private.
  • Never share your phrase, even with someone claiming to offer support.
